The Chicago Trees Initiative
Foundation: Central Indiana Community Foundation, Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta, Nike, Northern New York Community Foundation, Alaska Community Foundation, Chicago Community Trust, Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, Dayton Foundation, Greater New Orleans Foundation, Oregon Community Foundation
The Chicago Ttees Initiative is making progress according to the office of the Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley. The initiative was launched in 2009 where the public-private partnership is working to plant and care for trees in every neighborhood in the city.
The Chicago Community Trust awarded a $25,000 challenge grant, which was matched by the Parkways Doundation for plantings in Chicago parks.
